CaringBee is built around people – the person receiving care, the family trying to make the right decisions and the caregiver entrusted with someone’s wellbeing.

I understand that inviting a caregiver into your home is an act of enormous trust. It means allowing someone into one of the most private and vulnerable parts of your life.

I also believe that a caregiver placing her trust in CaringBee deserves the same consideration – for her safety, dignity and livelihood.

I don’t take either responsibility lightly.

A Personal Note

My Journey

My work has consistently involved people - through training, communication, life skills, young people, vulnerable communities and helping individuals build confidence and capability.

Over time, I became increasingly interested in what makes people live well, rather than simply function. My experiences with social work, training, mental wellbeing and human behaviour began to shape how I looked at caregiving.

I saw an industry dealing with some of the most vulnerable moments in human life, yet often approaching care predominantly through physical tasks and manpower.

That disconnect stayed with me.

What Changed My Perspective

My realisation wasn't simply that India needs more caregivers. It was that we need to rethink what we expect caregiving to accomplish.

An older person may need help bathing, but may still need intellectual stimulation, companionship and a sense of purpose.

Someone recovering from surgery may need physical assistance today - but should not remain unnecessarily dependent tomorrow.

A person whose children live overseas may be medically well cared for - and still be profoundly lonely.

"And a caregiver who spends twelve hours caring for another human being cannot herself be treated as invisible labour", these observations shaped CaringBee.

My realisation wasn’t simply that India needs more caregivers.

It was that we need to rethink what we expect caregiving to accomplish.

An older person may need help bathing but still need conversation, stimulation and connection. Someone recovering from surgery may need significant assistance today but should not necessarily remain dependent months later.

A person can be medically well looked after and still feel lonely. And a caregiver who spends her day caring for another human being cannot herself be treated as invisible labour.

Those observations changed how I thought about care.

Too often, caregiving seemed to follow a simple pattern:

Requirement → Find worker → Place worker → Done.

But care is rarely that simple.

The right arrangement depends on the individual, their health, personality, home environment, family dynamics and changing needs. And placement alone does not guarantee that care is working.

I wanted to build something more involved, accountable and responsive.

Patients, families and caregivers were often experiencing different forms of strain within the same care arrangement.

The patient may be struggling with dependency or loneliness. The family may be carrying guilt, anxiety or exhaustion. The caregiver may be dealing with poor working conditions or unrealistic expectations.

Yet these three experiences are deeply interconnected.

I kept coming back to the idea that good care cannot focus on only one person in the relationship.

Structure with humanity.

Professional standards without losing warmth. Caregiver welfare alongside patient welfare. Emotional and social wellbeing alongside physical care.

And wherever possible, recovery and independence as goals – not simply maintaining a person’s dependency because it is operationally easier.

I wanted to create a model where care continues beyond placement.

One that takes time to understand the situation, matches people thoughtfully, supports the relationship and continues to monitor whether the arrangement is actually working.

More importantly, I wanted CaringBee to look beyond the illness or requirement and see the human being living around it.

What

I Believe

I don’t believe good care begins with asking, “What can we do for this person?

I believe good care begins with asking: What can this person still do? What matters to them? And what would help them live better?

Needing help should not mean giving up independence. Growing older should not mean becoming invisible. And being unwell should never reduce someone to a diagnosis or a list of limitations.

Sometimes care means recovery. Sometimes it means regaining confidence. And sometimes, it is simply a conversation, a walk outside, a familiar routine or someone noticing when something feels different.

I believe those things matter.

And so does the caregiver. Someone who is exhausted, unsupported or treated without dignity cannot consistently give their best. Caring for the caregiver is not separate from caring for the patient. It is part of it.

Every decision should improve one of three lives: The patient’s, the caregiver’s or the family’s.

Ideally, all three.

My

Principles

Looking
Ahead

A Care Ecosystem Where Everyone Can Thrive

I want CaringBee to become more than a home-care service.

I want to help build a safer, more thoughtful care ecosystem – where caregivers have genuine professional pathways, families have systems they can trust, and older adults can continue to experience independence, relevance and connection.

A place where people who need care are not defined by their limitations, but supported to keep participating, growing and finding their place in the world.

And where the people providing that care are equally valued, supported and given the opportunity to build meaningful careers.

Success, to me, would mean helping raise the standard of what families expect from care – and what caregivers can expect from their profession.
